Description
From 1904-2004 and a couple of years either side of the century – the building industry in South Africa has looked to the Federation, founded by William Poynton, for support, guidance and unification. The name has changed twice since 1904, but the aims and objectives remain constant – to present its members, to improve their working conditions and to look after their interests at national level.
This book looks at the history of the Federation, its good and bad times which coincide with the varying cycles of the industry and most importantly it looks at he people. The many people who have pushed wheelbarrows, those that have laid bricks, who by their own labours built the foundation and the villages, towns and cities of our country
