Delight of Owls – Peter Steyn

R400.00

The Photographs (57 in colour, many more in black and white) are a major part of this book, they were taken mostly taken at the nest, and testify to the many hours, spread over thirty years, that Peter Steyn has spent studying owls. Owls are highly specialized nocturnal predators, perfectly adapted for their life in darkness. But this makes them difficult to study, so that it requires a special blend of enthusiasm and masochsim to sit up through the vast dead and the middle of the night photographing and observation. This book deals with 12 species of owls found in Southern Africa, but all are widely distributed elsewhere in Africa ……..
