The Things I Could Not Say : From a(ids) to z(imbabwe) – Frank Chikane

R350.00

Chikane goes through all of the issues with only one thing in mind and that is to paint Mbeki as a brave and wonderful leader that did everything correct down to the book. Let us take his Zimbabwe example where Chikane states that Mbeki was found to be wrong by outsiders in holding hands with Mugabe and Chikane goes further to say that SA has to have a lot of gratitude for Mugabe for letting his land reform be delayed to accommodate SA transformation to democracy. However Chikane fails to say why Mugabe was allowed to keep being the president disregarding his (Chikane’s) own words that no – one recognised the presidential election. That was what everyone wanted to know, but Chikane falls short. He also does not say anything about the 2002 elections that everyone, except Mbeki accepted as a scam. The truth would have been better – Zim without Mugabe = war. Not the war from outside and that scared Mbeki and he made concessions to avoid war. It is obvious, but it cannot be said, or what Frank?(review)

Softcover, Trade Paperback, good condition used but brilliant copy, tight and clean pages and a board on book excellent
